An ever-growing body of work that provides a view into the richness of stories from

cultures around the world.

Amazing Animal Anecdotes (K-5)

For the young at heart, watch and listen to animal characters brought to life in tales with meaningful morals.

A Light in the Dark: Stories on Keeping Safe (K-5)

A performance and post-performance exploration of two stories that teach children

about how to keep safe in the world.

 

Mandarins, Moons and Monkeys (K-5)

A collection of stories from Vietnam, China, Korea and India.

Magical Moments in Story (Grades 6-8)

A program of stories enhanced by sleight of hand, special props and costuming.

Teen Warriors and Goddesses: Our Youth at Risk (Grades 9-12)

A carefully selected montage of stories that address conflict resolution, issues of self-esteem and even young love!

 

The Parable of Hunting (Grades 9-12)

Used with the permission of Pamela Ateka, a poet/storyteller from Nairobi, Kenya, and founder of the Community Focus Group that supports orphaned and other vulnerable children. This readapted program addresses AIDS issues and concerns through a coming of age story of a young boy whose love of hunting gets out of control.

Marco Polo: I Have Told You Only Half of What I Have Seen

(for 07 shows) (Grades 6-12)

Listen to Marco Polo speak from his Genoese prison at the end of his travels to the Far East and to the world of the Great Khan. Learn of his encounters and of distant lands. Hear the tales he was told along the way in China, Lesser India, Indonesia, and of course, Italy.

Moving Easily Into ESL (Grades K-12 )

Combining Elaine's 10 years teaching experience as a certified ESL instructor for both adults and children at public and private schools, this program provides lesson plans to use for pre- and post-show activities for ESL audiences.

Artist-in-Residencies

Youth and Teens in Storytelling

Quantitative research has shown that storytelling enhances not only Language Arts skills, but also those in Math and the Sciences!  This 6-8 week program provides tools for selecting and analyzing stories, and learning and remembering story line. Students will also acquire performance techniques (voice, character development, physical presence) to capture and hold an audience. Culmination in a possible school or community performance. Every child is a winner! This program can be adapted for English Language Learners as well as specific content areas.

Enhancing Story Through Movement and Gesture

A streamlined hands-on offering of physical theater basics including combining narration with movement, use of space, character development and basic mime techniques. This program can be expanded to include work with selected text for solo or ensemble school performances.
