MAY

Sat, May 4  7:00 pm  Local storyteller Jon Spelman will be performing at the Ford's Theatre in their free Living Lincoln Series. The theater has just reopened after a $25 million refurbishment (comfy seats!) which maintained all of its historic character. Jon's presentation is entitled, Lincoln as Storyteller .
As you may know, Jon is trained in both acting and storytelling and has a national reputation. Even more important for this performance, he is a diligent researcher who invariably presents a very professional performance. For more about Jon, visit his website: http://www.jonspelman.org/TAPES&BOOKSPAGE.htm
To get your free tickets, go online (small handling fee) at:
http://www.fordstheatre.org/event/living-lincoln-series, or go to the Ford's Theatre box office and pick them up at no charge.
The performance begins at 7 pm, and it is general admission, so arrive early to avoid sitting behind a post... If you have to choose between sitting on the far right or the far left (no political implications implied...), choose the left to have a good view of the fateful box seats where President Lincoln was sitting on his final night.

Wed, May 6—7:30 pm Kensington Row Story Salon   Marcia Joiner and Ellouise Schoettler present a Mother's Day Program, showing that storytelling isn't just for kids. Free, Kensington Row Bookshop, 3786 Howard Ave, Kensington. 301-949-9416

Doors open at 6:30, show 8-10, restaurant open at 5:30. $10 cover. www.speakeasydc.org  to sign up for open mic
